Cesky Krumlov (CZE)- Klenova Mongol Rally Czechout Party (CZE): part 2
July 22, 2014
After Cesky Krumlov we start driving towards another UNESCO site called Holašovice. Nothing much there so Graham and Young took a nap.
“Holašovice is an exceptionally complete and well-preserved example of a traditional central European village. It has a large number of outstanding 18th- and 19th-century vernacular buildings in a style known as ‘South Bohemian folk Baroque’, and preserves a ground plan dating from the Middle Ages.” – UNESCO
Then we hit the road and go straight towards Klenova for the Mongol Rally Czechout the party. En route we buy a 10L jelly can, a tire pressure gauge, some tire sealed and one more blindspot mirror from a supermarket. When we arrive at 5:30pm whole bunch of other fellow Mongol Ralliers already arrived. It is amazing to see a whole bunch of small little cars and we feel like we are in a cult party ;-)
We finally meet the sweet Ulaan On Your Feet team: Tien, Andrew, Hamish and Jo. Super nice folks from Australia. Team Taiwan Bear from Taiwan, super funny and dynamic Canadian Darlene, Collin, Ian and Greg from team Spruce Moose, fellow NYC team Global Goulets, Italian brothers team Da Aosta alla Mongolia, the awesome Mongol Rally Limo Service, the energetic The Shire Boys…etc
We ended up partying til wee hours, taking double/ triple shots of Absinthe and Whisky and Aquavit with Spruce Moose and Ulaan on Your Feet. It was a great night and there is a certain comrade spirits shared among the Mongol Ralliers. You got to be a little bit crazy to do this adventure and it is great to meet very liked minded folks around the world.
Unfortunately I was too busy partying didn’t take much pictures. If you have any please share with us ;-)
Here are some unique fellow Mongol Rally cars which I took the morning after ;-)
