Istanbul (TUR)
July 31, 2014
Today we have a free day exploring Istanbul. We went to the Blue Mosque and the line to get in is super long so we decided to wait until tomorrow morning at 9am. We walked by Haiya Sofia, the Roman Ceessi and tourists are everywhere!
We went to the Grand Bazaar. It was fun to look at all these different stuff but ends up it’s all the same overpriced tourist stuff.
Graham had a very different shopping experiences than Kenneth and Young. Everywhere Graham went, probably because he is a Westerner, all the sales person keep inviting him to their shops, one guy even drove him to his carpet shop and served him tea. Kenneth and Young were mostly ignored by the all sale staff probably because they are Asian, and they enjoy their no-harrasment in this 14 millions people city.
Here are more pics of Grand Bazaar in Istanbul:
We tried some local snacks the Kokoreski and Cigares while walking around and exploring the Faith neighborhood.
Young got some traditional Turkish Sweets for her Mom in a residential neighborhood which the price is half from the Grand Bazaar.
Free Gaza graffiti in front of the Istanbul University entrance. Yes I am totally on your side on this!
For dinner we have some kebab. Then Kenneth works on the Turkish Oil Wrestling video and release it on Youtube.
